2016 Robbery Report: Robberies & Burglaries Up 28% Over 2015 - Dec. 2015 vs Dec. 2016: Incidents Up 125%

The D&D Daily reported a total of 1,822 robberies and burglaries across the United States in the fourth quarter of 2016, bringing the total number of publicly reported incidents in 2016 to 5,974. This,compared to last year's 4,666 total, is a 28% increase.

In the first quarter of 2017, the number of publicly reported robberies and burglaries climbed to 1,459 incidents. That's a staggering 27% increase over the first quarter of last year(1,151 incidents) and a 33% percent jump from the number of reported incidents (1,101) in Q1 of 2015.

Deaths Up 13% Q2 - Up 15% in Half Year
113 Deaths Q2 - 225 Deaths Half Year


With a 15% increase in violent deaths over the first half of 2016, the most alarming numbers are the sharp 32% increase in victims' deaths and 35% decrease in suspects' deaths in the second quarter of this year, with 61 customers, 14 employees, and 4 law enforcement and LP associates' deaths.

Comparing last December to this December reveals a stunning jump in the number of reported robberies and burglaries. Through the first half of December 2015, there were a total of 216 robberies reported in the Daily, while that same period for this year saw 359 robberies - a massive 66 percent jump.
